Spring Break 2017

April 9th, 2017 @ 6:52 am

For this year’s Spring Break, we first hit New Orleans and stayed right in the French Quarter. We saw lots of old stuff and nothing nearly as inappropriate as the parents warned we might! Daddy and I went out Pokemon hunting in the mornings and caught lots of new guys. The worst part was passing through Stinky Street (Bourbon Street) in the morning while they cleaned up all the trash from the night before. Then we would come back and pick up the girls to go out for breakfast. Cafe du Monde was our favorite beignets spot…mmmmmmm, powdered-sugary goodness! We toured St. Louis Cemetery to see the above-ground graves, saw the Mississippi River, cathedral, Jackson Square, French Market, VooDoo dolls, beads, and lots of Frenchy stuff on our visit. When we headed out, we made a pit stop in Mobile to eat at Felix’s and tour the USS Alabama battleship, stroll through the Aircraft Pavilion, and walk through the USS Drum submarine before hitting Perdido Beach.

Our resort was great…it sat right on a Pokestop and Gym! Between new catches and new evolutions, I got 17 new Pokemon! We had a pool that you could swim from inside to outside, a couple of hot tubs, and access right to the soft sandy beach. Morgan and I perfected our boogie boarding skills in between applications of sunscreen. Daddy and I made a habit of picking up breakfast for the girls in the morning and ice cream in the evening after our dinner and piano bar lobby evenings. We worked in a visit to Fort Morgan and managed to perfectly avoid some nasty storms to maximize our outside & sunshine time.

Photos below, but be warned, there are a TON! Only the first 100 will show here…click the title of the album to view them all on Flickr.
