Okay, this post in written form will never do the story justice, but it had to be written down by The Momma. We decided to hit the pool today before the rain came. So in usual summer fashion, we hopped in the car and headed north to Mema’s, suits on, SPF on, floaties…not on, and SPLASH! Another day of fun in the sun. This day was a little different in that Mema’s pool was a real attraction for lightening bugs…yes in the daytime! Weird. So while we were all getting bombarded by them, Parker decided to make friends with them; one in particular that he named Steve. He let Steve crawl all over him, “…because it tickles, Momma!” Morgan and I cracked up at Park’s gentle way of picking Steve up and moving him back down to his hand only to travel up to his neck again. After about 15 minutes and a photo or two of Parks and new friend, Parker decided to release Steve on Mema’s lily plants…the ones he (Parker) DOES NOT pee on. Anyway, throughout the afternoon, Parker continued to make friends with other “Steves” and eventually we got up to Steve #10. This Steve was special because he went swimming with Parker. He would swim out to Mema (no floaties) with Steve above the water on his pointer finger (“…because he’s king of the world!”) as not to get him wet. One time, however, as Mema was balancing Morgan Lee, Parker, and Steve, Steve fell off into the pool! Parks went crazy thrashing around yelling for Steve, Mema was yelling for Steve, I was yelling for Parker who seemed not as worried about keeping himself above water as finding and rescuing Steve, and Morgan…laughing her head off! It was a scene to behold! We found Steve (maybe #11..who knows) safe and sound and, he too, was released on the lily plant. Just in case Steve #10 didn’t make it, well, RIP little bug. You made my Parker’s day!

Super Saturday

June 4th, 2011 @ 7:29 pm

Our day started off with the annual opeing of Mema and Pepa’s pool. Once the tarp was off, it didn’t take long for Una and me to find our suits and get in even though there were no chemicals and only 2 feet of water! The amount of water or readiness has no effect on the amount of fun or splashing one can do in a pool! The excitment multiplied when Uncle TC and Baby Mitchell came by to help and throw his shoes into the pool. You guess who did what!?! Anyway, after some fun in the sun, we all got ready to get some late grub at HU HOT! Aunt Renee joined us after spending her morning helping at a garage sale. We finished up our meal with smores at the HOT. Morgan even made one for Pepa. He said it was the best one he’d ever had! Morgan’s a good smore maker!

After saying some good-byes, we headed over to the Lafayette Lawson’s house just in time to see the freshly cut down tree in their front yard! We quickly joined Riley and Taylor for some fun and vegging out. All of us were pretty tired from our days outside.

With sunkissed checks and cherry diet cokes, yes, Mema, Momma bought us DIET COKES!, we headed home to play with the new XBox. Thanks for a great day, everyone!
