Gigi and Poppa came down today to take us to a surprise event! After filling our belles at Denny’s, we kicked Momma out to go shopping and regrouped back at our house before taking off in the little blue bug. On the trip down, we played a spelling game using the signs on the road. Una is a good speller. We also learned where we were going…to Mickey’s Magic Show (which starts with a M)!
We went to Conseco Fieldhouse, but they weren’t playing basketball against the Magic…we were going to watch some magic. I thought the Goofy toy with spinning feet was pretty magical, but Morgan was charmed by the light up wand, so we each toted our fancy souvenirs down to our up-front seats and settled in for the show.
The show kicked off with dancers and introductions, then they got right in to the tricks. There were tricks, songs, jokes, and amazing feats of magic, but some of our favorites were Princess Jasmine being levitated, seeing Benny get flattened and shot out of a cannon, and seeing two have their legs cut off and switched!
After all of that excitement, we needed to re-energize at McDonalds on the way home. We both mowed down on our nuggets and Morgan even topped it everything off with some ice cream. Back at home, we relived the whole experience for Daddy right there in the kitchen, then once again for Momma when she walked in. We showed our appreciation for Gigi and Poppa by putting on an impromptu show of songs, dancing, jumping, and running before it was time to call it an evening. We gave hugs and thank yous, then let Gigi and Poppa head back North to recover from the eventful day. Thanks very much for the special day!
