Indy Visit

January 24th, 2010 @ 9:15 am

On Saturday, after Una’s swimming practice, we jumped in the car and headed south to Indy for the day. We toured around downtown to check out the Colts decorations, then scooted up to the Children’s Museum for the afternoon. We started out at the brand new Barbie exhibit, but it was crazy crowded, so we quickly moved on to my personal favorite…the Dinosphere! Morgan and I love crawling around the dinosaur exhibits…especially all of the secret caves and hide-outs. Then, we made our way up the ramp to the big huge train and around to the Chihuly glass. Not long after, I had a brainstorm that I wanted to head up to the Science Works on the top floor and play with the boats and water, so away we went. We spent so much time up in that section that we closed the place down! We paraded down the ramps at the end of the day and headed back outside to our car. But, not trip would be complete without a slight detour to the concrete monuments for a little running and climbing!

After the museum, we got some grub at Ruby Tuesday where Daddy made them rethink their approach to an all-you-can-eat salad bar. Finally, we rounded out the day with the whole purpose of the trip…the airport! We hung out at Gate B and watched lots of Jets fans pile in to Indy before we saw what we were waiting for…Gigi and Poppa! They flew back from Ft. Myers, and boy were their arms tired (seriously, Daddy, you’re salad-drunk). We welcomed them back and filled them in on all the exciting stuff they missed out on while they were on vacation, then started our journey back to Lebanon. Big, big day, because neither Morgan or I made it all the way home awake!

Ear Update

January 12th, 2010 @ 7:19 pm

Today I went to my ear doctor for my 6 month check-up. At almost exactly 2 years to the day, my left tube has fallen out and my right tube is currently laying in my ear canal. Sooooo, my doctor is just going to “play it be ear” (come on…that was good!) before deciding what needs to happen. If I start having lots of ear infections (likely-the pressure in my ears are 110 and 175, they should be at zero) then I will have to get my tubes put back in again. It’s a “wait and see” situation.
While we were there, I got my hearing checked, too. It was super fun…once I warmed up to the idea. I got to sit in a little soundproof room and push a button when I heard the sounds in my ears. Thanks to lots of Super Mario playing time, I was able to push that button like a champ!

All the Memas, Pepas, Gigis, and Poppas will be happy to know that Momma and Daddy kept up their end of the bargin and got their H1N1 Flu shots tonight, and they didn’t even cry…well maybe Daddy did a little! Good job guys!

Happy Birthday Poppa!
