Trains…trains….trains!

July 28th, 2009 @ 1:21 pm

Momma Post: Parker has probably logged well over 7 hours of play with his new train set. Keep in mind, we were gone all day yesterday. Anyway, both mornings, Parker has sat up in his bed, pointed to his train, and asked, “I play with train now?” Morgan threw in her usual words of wisdom, “That was a great birthday present purchase, Momma!” To that, I agree!

Rollin’ with the Big Boyz

July 26th, 2009 @ 7:51 pm

It’s been super busy this week, so I’ll start with last Sunday and Una and I will fill you in from there!

SUNDAY: Big News! I got a REAL big boy bed. Daddy went to Biggies (Big Lots) with coupon in hand and came back driving Momma’s car with one hand holding on to a full size mattress and box strings balanced on top! After clearing out my crib mattress, throwing on some airplane sheets, and adding a tropical themed comforter, it was time to break in my new bed! Needless to say, Momma and Daddy said I looked little in my BIG bed. No matter, I love it!

TUESDAY: Kids’ Day at the Tippecanoe County 4-H Fair! We hooked up with Aunt Carrie, Riley, and Taylor at the mall before braving the mad-craziness called the FAIR! We first scouted out some lunch, I had nachos while all the girls had corn dogs. A quick visit with Pepa and Uncle TC, then we headed to the rides for some serious fun! Momma and I stayed on the ground while Aunt Carrie took the girls on the ferris wheel. Soon after, the girls found another ride that seemed to be the hit for the day…The Hopper. They had to have gone on that thing about ten times and it never got old! I stuck to riding the Dizzy Dinosaurs, Merry Go Round, Crazy Bus (with Momma by my side), the helicopers several times, and a go on the wave runner ride. We took a brief intermission to go listen to story time at the special events tent, snacks in the trailer, then carnival here we come…again! Morgan took Riley and Taylor for a spin on the bumper cars and realized that she might want to wait awhile before driving for real! One more trip to the Pepa’s trailer for some snacks and a go at the Lucky Duck game for everyone where we all got a prize! I got a yellow ducky and MLee got a dog. They’re best friends! Next, the big finish…a swim in Mema’s pool! Whew…what a big day! I crashed in my new bed so fast that I was snoring before Momma and Daddy could turn on my tunes!

FRIDAY: Gigi Friday! It’s been a super long time since Gigi had been to our house so I showed her around…my new bed…Una’s new theme…the usual! We scarfed down some Gibby’s and then headed to ICP for some fun in the sand and lunch at McDonald’s. I was so tired that I went down for a nap as soon as bathtime was over. I was distrubed from my slumber by Momma asking me if I was ready for pictures. Standard Parker reply…”No, Momma.” But I turned it on once the camera started flashin’. Momma was so proud of Una and me during our shoot, that she called Daddy and bragged on us. Daddy was super jealous that he didn’t get to attend the world’s best photo shoot, but he was glad that Gigi got to experince it with us. Thanks for going with us Gigi!

TODAY: My birthday came early! Momma and Daddy gave me a full-blown train set! My other table is going to the basement to be used for my GEO-Trax set, and then I have this one in my room! I played for literally 3 hours straight. I screamed when Momma made me take a potty break and broke out in hives when I had to stop playing to eat dinner. I don’t have to go to Barnes and Noble anymore to play with their train set, I have my very own!

Weekend Adventure – Phase I: Kopp Family

July 14th, 2009 @ 8:32 pm

The fam woke up early-bird on Saturday to start heading North for our weekend adventure. We drove straight through to Elgin, where we stopped to see our friends, the Kopp Family! We hadn’t been to their new house yet, so it was exciting to get the tour of where they live. The best part was the huge play room they have upstairs…they have a bunch of great toys! I think Daddy’s favorite was the huge Millennium Falcon, but I liked the building blocks.

After a little play time while the grown-ups chatted, it was time to head over to Arlington Park. Daddy and Mommy had been talking about horses all week, and they didn’t let us down! We saw lots of huge horses and all of their jockeys riding around the track really fast. There was a Walsh party that day, so we also hung out with lots of friends and family who treated us like one of their own. We even walked away winners…Morgan picked Bullet Bob to win the 6th, and she nailed it. $12.50 worth of profit on the day!

After the horse racing, we swung back to Chez Kopp to play out in their super back yard, complete with swing set, playhouse, and water table. Everyone was pretty exhausted after the big day, so next was dinner, then a little more play before bath and bed. Bridget was nice enough to let us crash in her room for the night (it reminded me of Morgan’s with all of the girly pink stuff!), and we snoozed away until donuts in the morning, and Phase II of the weekend adventure.

Thanks, Kopp Family, for letting us hang out with you guys and welcoming us at your awesome home!

Carbination…an amazing discovery!

July 5th, 2009 @ 5:27 pm

So apparently I don’t give Parker carbinated drinks enough for him to know that the “little dots” he sees are bubbles.
Parker: “What’s this, Momma?”
Momma: “Little bubbles.”
Parker: Laughing, smiling, and talking in a very high pitched squeaky voice, “They’re cute tiny little bubbles, Momma! Hi cute little bubbles!” Pointing down at the cup…”You go in my belly, bubbles! I eat bubbles!”
