“I’m Parker!”

March 25th, 2009 @ 8:51 pm

So, it’s already Wednesday with one week to go before we leave for our vacation on “the big boat!” BUT-we’ve run into a few riptides…not tsunamis, but we can definitely feel the undertow!

On Sunday, Momma decided to strip the beds and wash all of our blankets, sheets, pillow cases, mattress pads, and anything else that looked like it needed a good washing. The thing is, she forgot that I needed to take my Sunday afternoon nap! I still sleep in a crib, Momma! It gave her reason to pull out my camo sleeping bag that Aunt Carrie got me for Christmas and roll it out onto my floor. That’s right, I took my nap on the floor in my sleeping bag and under all of my freshly washed blankets! Momma and Dada had their doubts, but once they left the room, I grabbed my Thomas Seek and Find book and within minutes I was racked out flat on my back for two hours! Make sure to check out the picks Momma took of me snoozing!

Monday, Dada was in Chicago so it was all Momma time! She dropped us off but not without protest from me. She said, “I’ll be back to get you this afternoon. I love you; have a good day, Dude.” I promptly responded (yelled): “I not Dude! I Parker, Momma!” You think she’d know my name, after all, she and Dada picked it! She did stay true to her word and picked Una and I up in time to head over to ballet. I loved watching Una dance, but with about 15 minutes left, I got bored and was ready to head for home.

Tueday, Everything seemed normal until Momma showed up at my school at 10:00 to take me to see my doctor. Yep. As she suspected…another left ear infection! Ear drops were prescribed and we went about our day together!

So that brings us to today. Haircut day. I went to the same place that Una and Momma get their hairs cut. The girl was really nice, but you know I’m not good with transitions, so I cried for awhile. BUT-I got a super-duper new do out of the deal! I even get to use “product!” Daddy twittered, but there will be new pics to come. Momma note: It was pretty fun to watch Parks check himself out in every mirror he could find! He was really interested in the texture of his new cut with the gel in it. I kept catching him feeling the top of his head! He really looks like a little boy now!

So I think that catches us up for now. Stay tuned…lots still to do before the big trip!

Monkey di Beppo

March 21st, 2009 @ 7:28 pm

Warm spring day plus four kiddos to sufficiently wear out before bedtime rolls around equals….MONKEY JOE’S! You might be wondering what Monkey Joe’s is, well let me tell you….it’s Saturday Heaven for ages 2-6! It’s an “All you can bounce wonderland.” It’s like Pixi Stix with more air blowers and nylon than you can imagine. Here’s how the day unfolded.

Lebanon Lawsons: What are you guys (Lafayette Lawsons) doin’ today?
Lafayette Lawsons: Nuthin’.
Lebanon Lawsons: Want to hit Monkey Joe’s Bounce Palace?
Lafayette Lawsons: We’re in.

So we all piled into our mobiles and headed to Castleton to get our bounce on. I was a little reluctant at first, but with Una, Riley and Taylor leading the way, I was bouncin’ with the big dogs in no time! In fact, we bounced for over 3 hours before calling it a day and heading to Bucca Di Beppo to fill our very empty bellies. Una and I ate naked spaghetti for the first time ever! Una even chowed on some cheese manicotti…momma made her, but she kept it down in order to have another piece of bread to dip in the oil and vinegar. My crowning accomplishment was putting down two servings of the monster choco-licious cake. Check out the pho-togs for the proof. After a quick walk around Castleton Mall, we headed for home and hit the hay where I’m currently wearing my Colts hats to bed. Chalk-up another fun day, Lawsons! We dominated!

Thanks, Jen!

Una and I just wanted to thank Jen C for helping us “get our green on” for St. Patrick’s Day with a little crafting project! With a huge paper full of green shamrocks and leprechauns, Una and I didn’t hesitate to express our own artist style! While Una went for a more planned meticulous approach, I abandoned any type of structure and used an asymmetrical technique that created movement within my piece! In boy speak that means, “I had no idea what I was doing but I had fun!” Make sure to check out our masterpieces!

Also, in the process of pulling these pics of the camera, we uncovered a few lost treasures that had been hidden away on the memory card.
