Arni’s with Daddy

Mommy had a late night of Parent/Teacher conferences, so when Daddy picked us up, we headed straight to Anri’s:

Adventure Weekend

February 8th, 2009 @ 3:22 pm

This Friday was Gigi Friday, so we started it off with a bang…heart shaped Krispy Kreme donuts with pink and red sprinkles! Morgan, who usually goes for the chocolate iced yeast, even got in on the action. We dropped Oohna off at her school, then headed over to the doctor’s office for a checkup. Everything checked out A-OK and I got a clean bill of health.

Gigi and I spent the day together, then picked up Big Sis like usual. However, instead of heading home and hanging out until Daddy got home, we packed up and headed North! Mommy and Daddy had to come up to Lafayette on Saturday anyway, so we crashed at Gigi and Poppa’s pad! We had a lot of fun playing and watching movies up there…so much so that when Gigi asked if I was sleepy, I immediately said yes and lead her back to the bed so that I could go night-night. Morgan stayed up a little later because she is a big kid, but it wasn’t long before she was sawing logs, too.

We woke up to more play time, but it wasn’t long before Daddy showed up to take over. Gigi’s friends met her at her house, then they all headed over to meet the other girls at Mema’s house for the big jewelry party. I feel sorry for them…they missed out on swimming time!

Shortly after Poppa got home, we talked him in to meeting Riley and Taylor over at Faith for swimming lessons. We splashed around a little bit and were really impressed by the awesome pool before Uncle Manata showed up with the girls. They jumped in to join us, and we splashed around and played for a little while before R&T lined up for their swimming lessons and we headed around the corner to the lap pool. After there lessons, there was much more splashing and pool time. Morgan and Riley played with Poppa…they pretended he was a big fish and they were trying to catch him and put him in the oven!

Speaking of food…swimming makes kids hungry, so we all got dried off and put our clothes on so we could partake in the traditional post-swimming-lesson tradition of hot dogs at DQ! We all ate really well and finished off the lunch with some creamy frozen treats before parting ways and heading back for rest time.

You would think that would be enough to call it a successful day and pack it in. But, when the Mommies got done with their jewelry stuff, they had other plans. They thought that we would have fun going out to the bowling alley! We synchronized our Swatch watches and hit the (gutter-filling bumper enhanced) lanes. All of us kids did great…our average was somewhere around 225, while the grown ups were lucky to break 100. That didn’t matter, though, because there was popcorn, pretzels, cheese, and cookies abound…so everyone had a great time!

On the way home, I zoned out to the movie the whole way, but Morgan finally gave in and crashed before we hit Frankfort (should have taken a nap, Oonah). Thanks very much to Gigi for bringing us up to spend the night, to Poppa for enjoying swimming fun time with us, and to Uncle Manata, Aunt Carrie, Riley, Taylor, and Aunt Jill for the night out on the town. What a fun day, and we have the pictures to prove it!
