Bumps, Bouncing, and Beauties

September 27th, 2008 @ 8:10 pm

Last night, Daddy thought it would be a good idea to wrap up the night with a movie down on the big screen in the basement. Morgan got to pick out the movie, and she picked Charlotte’s Web…a great choice! After about an hour, though, I got pretty squirmy and was up bouncing around the room and off the couch. This ended up badly for my forehead, the coffee table, and my magic bowl. I came crashing down and caught the corner right on my noggin. It bled for a bit…not too badly, but enough to freak Morgan out! All in all, I ended up with a headache, a band aid, and a new respect for gravity.

Today brought a whole new day of fun and excitement. It was Adam Byrne’s birthday party! We got up this morning, took a bath to get squeaky clean, and waited ofr Riley and Taylor to meet up with us at our house before heading out to the Bounce Zone in Noblesville. It was a boring ride, but as soon as we got there the excitement started! We got our socks on and hit the inflatables. There were huge slides, monster obstacle courses, and awesome bounce houses. There was even a toddler room where mini-versions (just my size!) awaited our bouncing and rolling. After we worked up a sweat in the air-powered fun house, we snarfed some pizza and cake and helped Adam open his presents for his 4th birthday. Happy birthday Adam, and thanks very much for letting us come and bounce!

We rode home and the Mommies where there waiting for us, ready to carry on the fun filled day. We played outside a little before taking the party back inside to the playroom. Those crazy girls broke out all of the dress up clothes and made themselves in to beautiful princesses! Dresses, crowns, jewelry, shoes…the whole works. We played up there for a long time before heading back downstairs for dinner and a little more running, screaming, falling, and jumping silliness. Thanks to our favorite cousins for chilling with us and making today a huge win!

Hermit Crabs

September 21st, 2008 @ 7:23 pm

I don’t know what’s gotten into the Momma, but in addition to my fish, Madison, and Una’s caterpillar, we went to the pet store tonight and bought two hermit crabs…lovingly named Butter and Cakes! They don’t really do too much, but I really liked watching them walk around their new home. Eventually they will go to Momma’s classroom to live, but for the next few days, they’ll be our center piece on our kitchen table.

Mommy’s Car Broke

September 4th, 2008 @ 7:38 pm

Daddy picked us up from school and we were supposed to meet Mommy on her way home for a little swap-a-roo so that the girls could go to a girly party while the boys went home to play and burp. However, plans changed when we got a call that Mommy had a flat tire! Oh noes!

A quick pit stop at home to get some tools and snacks, then we were rolling to the rescue. We arrived on the scene and Daddy was on the job. He had the jack out, the spare tire ready, and the car jacked up in just a few minutes while Mommy transferred the DVD player to Daddy’s car and helped us with snacks. Daddy got all of the lug nuts off and we thought we were making good time to keep the girls on schedule. Good thing, too, because Lebanon was getting a healthy dose of much needed rain.

Then disaster struck. The wheel wouldn’t come of the car. No way, no how. Daddy hit it with tools, kicked the heck out of it, lowered the car and raised it back up a couple of times, kicked it more, yanked at it, tried to pry it off with the jack arm, kicked it more, and then kicked it. We double and triple checked the manual, and even tried calling the local Chevy place to see if there was some sort of trick or security device that we had to release…nothing. However, they did offer the helpful advice of “crawl underneath the car and kick it from the inside of the wheel”. Seriously? Kick at a car up on a little bitty jack from underneath?!? I’m only two, but I know that is a ridiculous idea!

So, it was time to give up. Daddy had just called the tow truck and was on the phone giving updates to the family when a lady rolled up and lowered her window.

Daddy started with, “We’re fine, the tow truck is coming. Thanks.”

She says, “No, I was seeing if you could help me with directions.”

Directions? Really? Lady, do we look like we have something else going on here? It is pouring rain, we’re on a gravel road next to a car on a jack and in the middle of a phone call!

In hindsight, maybe Daddy should have said, “Hey, if you crawl under the car and kick at this tire, I’ll help you with your directions!”

Anyway, the tow truck came and took Mommy’s owie car to Big O Tire next door. Morgan and Daddy looked out of the back window and waived Good Night to Mommy’s car.

So, the night was totally busted, but we ended up with a pretty interesting adventure to share with you all!
