Elmo!

Excuse me…can you help me for a second? Can you tell me how to get to SESAME STREET?!?

After the usual round of Sunday errands in Indy, we hooked up with Riley and Taylor at the Murat for an event of a lifetime…Sesame Street Live: Elmo Makes Music! There were lots of Elmos in the lobby, and that would have been awesome enough for the day just to hang out there. But, we made our way to row R, dead center, and settled in for the extravaganza. The lights dimmed, my jaw dropped open, and I barely moved for the whole show! Besides Elmo, we got to see all of the favorite Sesame Street gang dance and sing across the stage…Big Bird, Zoe, Cookie Monster, The Count, Oscar, and the list goes on. During the first half of the show, I sat on Daddy’s lap while Morgan sat next to Mommy and sang loud! On the other side of Mommy, Riley and Taylor were glued to the show with their Mommy and Daddy, too.

After the intermission, Riley came down to share Daddy’s lap with me, and she and I clapped through the rest of the show. Not just at the end of the songs, and not just to the beat. No…we clapped every minute for the entire 2nd act! The only thing that could distract us from clapping was the occasional super-cool hands-in-the-air-waiving-from-side-to-side move that Daddy taught us.

Ok, enough bragging about getting to go to the show…here are the pics!

Thanks, Mema and Pepa!

Just wanted to send a big shout-out to Mema and Pepa for once again hanging out with Morgan and me while Momma went and got her hair did! It was also fun to see TC on a surprise stop in Lebanon! Man, Uncle TC, you sure know how to use your words…and lots of them!

Egg-citing day

March 22nd, 2008 @ 5:06 pm

After breakfast this morning, Mommy got ready to head out the door to work on her class with Jennifer Coyle. That meant that Daddy was home all alone with the crazies kids! The first order of business was to boil some water so that we could cook some Easter Eggs for some post-lunch fun…more on that later. But, when those were done and cooling, Daddy got us dressed up in our Saturday best (which usually consists of some sort of mis-matched running suit) and we were out the door to the grocery.

It started out a little rough when we couldn’t find a race car shopping cart. But, we managed to get by with a regular cart and started filling it up with goodies. To say it was a little hectic at the store might be an understatement…it was like the official Lebanon Grocery-going Day and all of the sweatpants-wearing, cigarette-buying, spam-eating crowd was there to fill the isles and stock up on pork rinds and hot sauce. That left more grapes for me, so we tried to scoot around them and grab everything else on Mommy’s list.

After that little adventure, we headed back home and had some lunch while Daddy put away groceries. Knowing what was next, it was hard to concentrate on eating and leaving Daddy alone…we were really excited. Finally, the time came for eggs!

Daddy threw out an assortment of our finest china on the counter and splashed in vinegar and water while we dropped in the little color tablets. Pro tip: you don’t eat the tablets…I found that out with the orange one, check out some of the first pics below where I’m turned around with my little orange lips. After those things fizzed away, we gently plopped in the hard boiled eggs and let them soak up the amazing colors. I helped to make sure they were all rotated evenly by insisting on touching every one and swirling it around in the finger-staining solution. Morgan got creative with some bi-color designs that I appreciated, but didn’t have the patience for. When we were all done, we had a rainbow of shells for the bunny to hide tomorrow. Check out our work!
