So on Saturday, the Lebanon Lawsons met up with the Lafayette Lawsons, plus Poppa, at the Children’s Museum in Indy for a fun filled afternoon playing and exploring! This was my first trip at the museum and it was super fun! We hit the play scape area first thing and I loved it!! I could have stayed there all day climbing, playing in the sand, looking at bears, planting flowers, rearranging magnets, and sliding down the slide, but there was more fun to be had in other areas. We checked out the ScienceWorks area where I was completely enamored with the pool ball contraption! I could have watched that thing go for hours, but then it was off to ride a stationary horse on the carousel next to Taylor on the stationary lion. Stationary is important here because if you are 2 and under, you couldn’t ride an animal that wasn’t stationary. Morgan was the only one of us that got to go up and down. It pays to five years old! Next, we hit the dinosaur exhibit where we put on our safety goggles and dug for fossils.

After a quick toodle through the gift shop, a small snack, nap, and dinner at Ruby Tuesday’s, we were off to pick up Gigi from the airport. You see, she’d been in sunny Florida with Mada for a week and it was time for her to come home to Arctic Tundra Indiana. We ran around the airport until she finally came down the escalator and hugged us all super tight! I think she was really surprised to see all her ducks up way past their bedtimes! Welcome home, Gigi! We hope Mada is having a great time soaking up the rays in Fort Myers…see you in February!
Lately I’ve decided to throw Momma and Daddy a bone. I’m paying more attention to them while they read me books. Granted, they have to read to me while I’m in the bathtub, but it’s a start. I’ve also added more words to my vocabulary. I can say cat and meow, I say “all done” in my own ParkerSpeak, cup, and nanna (banana). I can show Momma where my nose, head, ears, toes, socks, and belly are. With Morgan’s help, I put my sippy cup in the refrigerator when I’m done with it. When I’m asked a question that I want to answer yes to, I say, “Yeaahhhh!” I wonder what’s on tap for this weekend? I’ll keep you posted!

Go bananas on your birthday!

The surgery to get my ear tubes went pretty well this morning. We were up early and at the hospital by 6:30, then checked in and went back to the waiting room. I got changed in to a very breezy gown and then Mommy answered 1323 questions from the nurse while I watched TV and hung out. Then, the surgery nurse came to carry me back to the room. I was a little sad about that at first, but was a trooper and went on back.
It was only about 15-20 minutes before I was back out and in Mommy’s arms for snuggles. I was pretty groggy and grumpy for about 10 minutes, then perked up and had something to eat and drink. A few minutes after returning home, I was up and walking around and laughing at Kitty! Big Sis was awesome through the whole thing. I know she loves me very much because she was very concerned for me and kept close watch on how I was feeling.
After a while, the girls went to school and Daddy and I hung out, ate everything in the house, and watched Elmo until nap time. I crashed for almost 4 hours, then got up and was grubbin more food!
Thanks very much for all of the calls, well-wishes, presents, and balloons! They’re helping me on my way to a quick recovery!

I know, 17 month birthday, no big deal, right?!? Well, let me tell you, a lot can happen in just a few short months around here. For example, I can say, “cookie” and “Melmo” (Elmo). Momma brought out some of Morgan’s old Elmo slippers and I immediately took a liking to them and want to wear them everywhere…including to the grocery store OVER my footed pajamas! I may be a boy, but I know how to accessorize! I also can make sounds for a dog (“woof-woof”) and a horse (“neigh”) along with my world-famous elephant sound (“woahhh”)! I’m also getting very good at communicating with my parental units about what I want and when I want it. Momma asked me today if I wanted another marshmallow, and I replied with, “yeah!”
On the sleep front, the last week or so has been pretty rough…just at the initial putting to bed. Last night I cried for an hour and a half and protested several times by throwing everything out of my bed and yelling about it. Momma is chalking it up to ears and hoping that my surgery on Tuesday will fix it.
On Friday night, Daddy was running late coming home from work, so Momma took MLee and I to Dip It (aka-the little Mexican restaurant in town). I love to dip my chips in the salsa, cheese dip, and the guacamole. I also eat Momma’s tomato from her chimichanga AFTER I’ve eaten a chicken strip AND some fries! However, all that Mexican food snuck up on me…during bath time!! MLee and I were blowing bubbles when all of the sudden, it happened! I pooped in the tub! Mommy didn’t realize it at first until I pointed at ONE of the gems and said, “Uh-oooohhh!” Well, let’s just say we were both evacuated swiftly while the decontamination crew (Momma) went to work! We quickly resumed our tub play shortly there after.
Wanted to send a shout-out to Mema and Pepa for taking Big Sis and I to the mall to play and play until no more playing came out on Thursday night so Momma could get a facial, pedicure, and eyebrow wax. I had lots of fun on the slide and “reading” books with Pepa! Also a big thank you to Gigi for Gigi Friday! We went to Dollar Tree and got some treat-a-roos! Gigi, I haven’t stopped hauling my balloon around the house yet! It’s gone in the tunnels with me, the bathroom, down the slide, and every other place you can think of! I love my balloon! Thank you!
Look for a update on Tuesday about my tube surgery! Love to all!
