Holiday Update

December 29th, 2007 @ 4:08 pm

Yea, it really has taken until December 29th for things to calm down for a minute so that Mommy and Daddy could update the site. Sorry about that, but we’ve been very busy spreading Christmas Joy around!

Morgan last covered Christmas Eve, so I’ll start with Christmas morning. We woke up (not until about 8:30!) to a big bundle of presents under the tree downstairs from Santa! Morgan immediately started tearing in to hers, but I was still trying to figure out what the heck was going on for the first few minutes. I was really preoccupied with the basketball goal…I kept making shot after shot and wasn’t really interested in moving on (anything with a ball is a win with me!). But, once I got a few of my other presents open, I got the hang of it and kept progress moving to reveal all of my presents…we must have been really good this year!

After Santa gifts, we got ready and packed up in the car to head to Gigi and Poppa’s house. Riley and Taylor were there with Aunt Carrie and Uncle Manata, but we could hardly find them under the avalanche of gifts. We decided to tear in to Round 1 (Aunts and Uncles presents) and made quick work of unwrapping the goods. We immediately started to break in the new toys…they were great! After a short break, we started Round 2 (Gigi and Poppa and Mada presents) and had a whole new toy store in front of us. There were so many cool things that we had to have Pepa bring his big truck to help us haul it, which brings us to the next stop on the 2007 Christmas Tour…

We arrived at Mema and Pepa’s house at about 4:30 and played with TC, Renee, and Julie. Then, if you can believe it, we had even more presents to open! We got some really cool toys that kept us entertained in to the night. I had so much wassail, sugared plums, and fruitcake (or was it chips, juice, and cookies?) that I had to hit the hay while the party roared on without me.

Since then, our days have been filled with chores, stores, car rides, play room destruction, naps, snacks, and fun family days. I hope everyone’s holidays were as nice as ours!

Sickie

December 22nd, 2007 @ 5:02 pm

Ever since Wednesday, I’ve gotten to spend quite a bit of time with Mema and Pepa….especially Pepa’s chest. You see, I’ve been VERY sick. So sick that all I do is lay around on someone and look up with very sad eyes every now and again. On Wednesday, my school called Momma and Momma called Mema, and there they were to the rescue! I went to the doctor with a 101 degree fever and was diagnosed with a cold. The fever stayed around for Thursday, too. Mema and Pepa showed up again to hang out with me at home. My fever finally broke and I started to perk up a little on Friday. Just in time for Gigi Friday! I’m still not really myself, but I would like to thank Mema and Pepa for taking care of me and Gigi for another great Friday! I’m so lucky to have such awesome Memas, Pepas, Gigis and Poppas! Love to you all!

Chuck E. Cheese’s

December 15th, 2007 @ 8:49 pm

We wanted to head out early this morning to avoid the big snow storm and get some shopping done. Also, we wanted to get out of the house so we didn’t go stir crazy if we’re snowed in for the rest of the weekend!

Our first stop was the fabulous Hobby Lobby…Daddy and I love that store so much :(

Then, we drove over to Michael’s, but we just let Mommy out this time while the rest of us chilled in the car and listened to Christmas music. But, we were on extra special good behavior because we were promised a super-duper lunch adventure if we could keep it together while Mommy was in the store. Those crazy parents made good on their promise…after Michael’s was Chuck E. Cheese’s!

I had to pick my jaw up off the floor (good thing it didn’t have far to fall) when I saw all of the crazy lights and games. My belly told me that there were bigger priorities, though…mainly pizza and milk. We watched all of the action over our shoulder while we scarfed that down, then hit the arcade with 50 tokens to blow through. I think my favorite parts were the seat that lifted up and around the clock (check out the pics) and the basketball game. Morgan’s favorite was definitely the squirt gun game.

After we spent all of our gold, and collected all of the treasure (tickets), we sent the girls over to the counter to cash in for fabulous prizes. Morgan ended up with a beautiful plastic bracelet and ring. She didn’t forget me, though, and splurged on a soccer ball hacky sack for her favorite brother!

Snow!

December 7th, 2007 @ 8:16 am

This week brought the first snow of the year. So, Mommy stuffed Morgan and I in to our snow gear and we ventured out to play! Morgan jumped in right away and started running, jumping, packing, pushing, snow-angeling, etc. I was a lot more cautious and just moved a few steps each time Mommy held my hand, then when she let go I would stop and start looking around again…not sure what to make of all that cold white stuff. As you can see from the pictures, I was much more interested in eating it (and, eating anything else in sight!).
