Since yesterday was a Gigi Day, she took MLee and I to get flu shots at the doctor. It was okay; I did get a Thomas the Train band aid out of the deal. Oh yeah, and diagnosed with a left ear infection. Mommy’s been noticing me flip my left ear for the past couple of days, and after Gigi was a witness to it as well, it was time to confirm. Since this was my 6th one in a year, I have to go visit the specialist and decide what happens next. I’ll keep you posted! For all those keeping score…I weighed 23 pounds 10 ounces! That’s still about 5 pounds less than Big Sis when she was this age, but I’m gaining on her! Lock up the pantry, I coming for the good stuff with Twinkies in both hands! Thanks for a great Gigi Day, Gigi! How about next time we ditch the doctor and the shots, though???
St. Louis Day 2After a bit of a restless slumber, we were up and at it around 6:30 (that’s 7:30 Lebtucky time) this morning. We headed straight down to get some free grub. It was fitting that I was eating more bananas than a monkey since the St. Louis Zoo was first on our agenda today! We jumped in the car around 8:05, and were at the park 45 minutes before it actually opened! You know what that means?!? Free parking! We saved 10 bucks by arriving so early. We also got to hit the children’s zoo before the huge crowd rolled in. Here’s what really funny about my big sis…she won’t touch a guinea pig or goat (I did and loved it!), she WOULD NOT go in the butterfly observatory with Momma and me (loved it), BUT she will go up a zillion stories in the sky to see out of a tiny little window at the top of the Arch!! Weird!! Anyway, the zoo was super cool since I LOVE animals…and it was admission free! No tricks…it really is free all the time! We saw every animal you could think of (it really makes the Indy Zoo look VERY small). I loved walking around whenever they’d let me, and I wanted to pet everything I saw…a hippo, hyena, and a lion! Momma wasn’t down for that. Anyway, we stayed at the zoo for five hours (could have stayed longer) then back to the hotel for about a 30 minute break. Next on our list of things to do was the Arch. It’s so close to our hotel that we walked there! Soon after Daddy purchased the tickets to head to the top, Mommy didn’t look so good. I know that she doesn’t like flying, but apparently the Arch was a little too high for her liking as well! To kill time and take Momma’s mind off the impending climb to the top, we watched a movie about settling the Western Frontier. I LOVED IT (Mommy Note: This movie was super boring…but super included in the price of the tickets. I can’t believe his first movie was a documentary and he ate it up with a spoon)!! I sat through the whole thing without even a peep! Every once in awhile I’d point out the buffalo, horses, and cows to Momma. After a quick spin through the museum, it was time to board our pod. Yes, I said a pod. It seated 5 grownups, and took 4 minutes to get to the top and 3 minutes to get back down. As we climbed up, Daddy and I looked out the window while MorganLee offered Mommy words of praise and strength to get her up to the tippy top. Once at the top, (Mema and Pepa are gonna’ love this) Morgan bolted for a window and climbed right up..butt in the air and everything! She had her face pressed again that window faster than you could say vertigo! Of course, I was quick to decide that I, too, wanted to see out the tiny window as well. Daddy hoisted me up next to Big Sis, and I let out several shrieks of excitement!! All the while, Mommy never looked out. She was ready to head down just as soon as she got there. After our 3 minute descend, we hit the gift shop for some well deserved tokens of the trip. Mommy actually found the very same souvenir of the Arch that Mema and Pepa bought her when she visited 27 years ago! Holy Cow, Momma’…how old are you!?!? One last stop for the day. Dinner at Union Station. We took a quick toodle around to see what stores and shops were there, and then we got down on some grub at the food court. Back in the car and to the hotel. Morgan and Daddy are swimming while I try to settle in for some well deserved sleep. Catch ya’ on the flip side! “We dominated St. Louis!” -The Daddy October Fest UpdateSooo, Mommy and Daddy have been a little lax in keeping my website updated. So here’s the October rundown thus far: October 4th-Happy 14 month Birthday to me! Whooo-hooo! October 6th-Hopped in Pepa’s truck and headed to South Bend for Bryan and Laura’s wedding. It was really fun seeing my relatives, but man it was hot! Daddy and Mommy were pretty worn out from chasing me all around so that’s when I decided to spice things up. I took a header on Bryan and Laura’s deck. Yep. I busted my lip and tongue but no major surgery was needed, just a cold washcloth and Momma’s TLC…and some air conditioning! Daddy and Uncle Manata took off and headed to Chicago for some “boy time,” while Momma, Morgan, and I headed back to Mema and Pepa’s for a slumber party! I slumbered, Morgan partied…she ended up sleeping in Mema’s bed perpendicular to Pepa, while Mema was kicked on to the floor. Up and at em the next morning. After some breakfast out and some playing at the mall, Daddy met up with us at Mema’s and it was time to head to our home. Thanks to everyone for such a great weekend. Thanks to Mema and Pepa for letting us hang at your house! October 11th-Gigi and Poppa make a trip to Lebanon to get there Morgan and Parker fix before taking off for Myrtle Beach for some well deserved R & R. Have a safe and fun trip! Remember, I’ve already been a very good boy since you’ve been gone!! October 13th-StonyCreek Pumpkin Patch! Thank goodness…Mommy’s been talking about this place for the last year! After a quick visit from Grandma JoJo and Grandpa Gary, Mema and Pepa showed up with Uncle TC and Aunt Renee. Shortly followed by Aunt Carrie, Uncle Manata, Riley, and Taylor. It was off to farm to do some patchin’! We first took a hayride out to the patch where I patted every pumpkin! I loved walking through all the vines to find the next great pumpkin. When all was said and done, I think my sister’s pumpkin was the biggest. It weighed more than I do…I think! Next up was the inflatable caterpillar for Big Sis, jumping and climbing on the giant hay mound, some lunch and then to the outdoor play equipment. That’s where Big Sis went to town making a NBF, and I went to town snoring on Momma’s shoulder. Morgan did some other stuff while I snoozed…I’ll let her fill you in on all that. Before I knew it, we were at Mongolian BBQ with the clan minus Uncle TC and Aunt Renee chowing on some grub. What a big day but an awesome adventure! Thanks to everyone for making it such a great time! Momma’s already talking about next year! Give it a rest lady! Check out the pics! That’s the month in review so far…BUT stay tuned…we take off for St. Louis on Thursday! Of coarse Daddy will have the laptop so he can help update daily on our adventures!
