A Visit to the 4-H Fair
Since Big Sis is gone vacationing in St. Joe’s, MI, I decided that I would blog about our trip up to the fair last Thursday night. So here goes! Mommy picked Morgan and me up from school like usual, but NOT like usual, we skipped our ever-so-predictible, “Thursday Night, McDonald’s Night” trip and headed right up to Mema’s house instead. We quickly whisked Mema into the car and headed up to something called, “The Fair.” Mommy had some other choice adjectives for this wonderous place, but I have a feeling she’d like me to leave those thoughts and feelings out. Once there, we parked VIP style in the YMCA parking lot…right next to Pepa’s wheels. Before I knew what was going on, MorganLee was in her undies putting on a pink shirt, and Mommy was redressing me in an orange shirt with some pretty big letters on it! I now know that this shirt is a right of passage. It’s the Mugg Electric Inc Shirt. Mommy made T.C., Pepa, Morgan, and me all stand (or be held) together with our shirts on. It was definitly a “Kodak Moment.”
After the photo-op, I hit the elusive Fair Office with Pepa to talk some “Fair Talk.” While everyone else was discussing the latest happenings on the grounds, I was noticing all the super big shiny belt buckles that everyone seemed to be wearing. Some were bigger than my head!! I’ve gotta’ get my chubby fingers on one of those!
Next we hit the rabbit barn…LOVED IT!! I pointed, squeaked, laughed, smiled, and poked all the bunnies within range! They reminded my of Kitty!
Horses came next…LOVED IT! It was really cool when the horses looked eye-to-eye at me and neighed!
We toured the sheep barn…LOVED IT!! Again, I squeaked and pointed a lot!
While all the animals were MY favorite part…Big Sis was chomping at the bit to experience the overpriced rides. However, before we hit the midway, she hung out with Pepa turning lights on, talking to people, getting a balloon, talking to people, and snagging a fireman’s hat and coloring book while talking to people. See a theme here?
Sis finally got to enjoy some rides (Thanks Mema!) before speeding through the Home Ec. Building and heading home to hit the hay!
All in all, I’d say my very first fair experince was very cool, and I can’t wait to come back for more! Look out bunnies! On the other hand, Mommy is still recovering from her allergic-like response to “Fair Dust.” Where’s your 4-H Spirit, Mommy?!?!
Thanks to Pepa, Mema, & TC for a super cool evening! Long Live the Fair!
