Inaugural Trip to the Indy Zoo

June 28th, 2007 @ 8:04 am

After a well prepared breakfast of oatmeal and an adequate nap, Mommy got the phone call from Kara saying that all systems were a go for the zoo! My first thought…what’s a zoo? Well, let me tell you, I quickly found out! I got to see so many of the animals that Mommy tries to read to me about that I actually had to take a small snooze through some of the plains animals to refuel. We saw the shark exhibit, jellyfish, swimming polar bears, penguins, walrus, lots of desert lizards, snakes, lions, giraffes, rhinos, my personal favorite, the dolphin show…the list goes on. It was super fun checking out all the animals with my friends Eli and Andrew. They’re older than I am, but I’m sure in a year or two, we’ll be running around just like Ellie and Morgan do (Ellie was unable to make the event due to a previous engagement at her grandma’s house). Side note: The head count for this event was four kiddos to three mommies. Sounds a little daunting, but never a problem. The kids were awesome!

To top the day off, we headed to the water fountains to cool off. Mommy changed me into my trunks, but I stayed pretty close to her getting only a spritz every once in awhile.

We had such a fun day, and Mommy said I was sooo good there! See Mommy, just had to work out all my kinks the first four months! Thanks to Kara, Eli, Allyson, Andrew, and Morgan for such a great day!

Catch-Up Post

June 21st, 2007 @ 10:42 am

First, thanks to everyone that came down to our house on Sunday to celebrate Father’s Day! It was a great time seeing everyone and playing with (more like “next to”) my cousins Riley and Taylor, and Big Sis. I’m finding out very quickly that there are a lot of girls each with her own opinion about how the show should be run! I’ll just do what Daddy says, “Sit back and do whatever the women-folk say. They’re always right so don’t even try to dispute.” Mommy thinks that’s great advice!

Morgan and I have a different schedule than last summer, not that I would even know…I wasn’t even born yet! I go see the ladies at daycare on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, and play with Mommy on Wednesdays and Fridays (Gigi every other Friday). The reasons for going to daycare three days instead of two days is two fold: #1-Big Sis gets to learn lots and lots from Ms. Michelle upstairs in pre-school, and #2-The cost is the same no matter how many days we’re there. I’ll be honest, neither #1 or #2 has much to do with me unless we’re talkin’ about what’s in my diaper, ya’ dig?

On Monday, Mommy picked us up a little early to go to the doctor…again! Confirmed. Ear infection is still present and must take ten more days of medicine!! Will the madness never end?!? Current count, 3 different doctors, 4 visits, 3 different types of meds, and 4 prescriptions! Hopefully this last round of visits, doctors, meds, and scripts will get me on the right path!

Yesterday, we went swimming in Mema’s pool after a visit to the playground at the mall and a little cat nap for me. I was out for about two hours before I got pretty sleepy again and went in for another nap. Pool time is fun and all, but I’m pretty happy sitting on the deck filling my belly full of tasty treats! Mema was super impressed by the amount of food that can fit in my belly! Oh Mema, Wagon Wheel snacks aren’t for amateurs! While we visited, Pepa came home and I showed him my super sweet monster voice. Deep down, I know he’s jealous of my mad skills! Keep workin’ on your monster voice, Pepa!

Happy Father’s Day!

Just wanted to wish Daddy and all the other daddies, grandpas, and great-grandpas a Happy Father’s Day! Lots of love, hugs, and drooly kisses to you all!

Water Baby!

Today was the second day in Mema and Pepa’s pool and boy did I have a different reaction this time! I loved it!! I kicked, I splashed, I laughed….all this WITHOUT my flotation device. Yep, I’m just like my big sis, no flotation for me, just free to swim! Thanks, Mema for another great day at the pool, and thanks to Pepa for rescuing me from my dreaded nap time! See ya’ next week!
