We slept in a little this morning after our crazy day yesterday. But, we didn’t waste any time once we got up…we were out the door (so fast that I was the only one that had breakfast) and hopped right on the bus to Animal Kingdom! As soon as we walked in the jungle park, we were greeted by a few animals. The macaws were pretty noisy. We took a quick left to Camp Minnie and Mickey and buzzed right in to the Festival of the Lion King show. It was full of songs, crazy costumes, acrobatics, stunts, floats with huge animals, fire dancers…the list goes on. We came right out of the show and hit a hot dog stand where Mommy, Daddy, and Morgan all scarfed down dogs as big as me (yup, Morgan ate the whole thing…check out the picture…you’ll be impressed) while I had carrots and some sort of tropical fruit dessert in honor of our jungle day.
After our bellies were full, we scooted over to the Asia area so Daddy could grab a Fast Pass for the Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain roller coaster. He just got one because none of us were crazy enough to jump on a train and go up that mountain…there is a Yeti up there!
With that handled, we moseyed back to the center to Discovery Island and saw the Tree of Life. This thing is h-u-g-e. It is super-cool, too, because there are over 300 animals carved in to it. I can’t count yet, but Morgan caught about 290 of them. I just wanted to eat them all, or at least drool all over them. Once inside the tree, everyone else saw a 3D move called Its Tough to be a Bug! I, on the other hand, stared at the back of the seat in front of me and drooled on my hands. Just as well, though, because when we were done I could tell that Morgan was a little shaken up by the interactive puffs of air, squirts of water, wiggling seat, and buzzing sound effects. We’re all tough, though, so we decided to press on.
Next stop was DinoLand U.S.A. where we headed straight for the Flying Triceratops ride (think Aladdin’s Magic Carpets, but with flying cartoon versions of 14,000 pound ferocious dinos). We all loved the crazy Pigeon Forge-like signs for the cheesy shops and Daddy tried his hand at a few games but didn’t come away with a suitcase-stuffer prize.
Then, we swung back through Asia and found a special “Single Rider” line for the big scary coaster ride. Daddy’s Fast Past wasn’t until much later in the evening, so I slept while Mommy and Morgan hung out and Daddy jumped in line. When he came back, he looked whiter than my SPF50-covered arms, but it sounds like he had a really fun time.
With the effects of another Disney Park taking their toll on our sanity, we decided to catch the shuttle home and take a nap. Morgan met a NBF (new best friend) while we were waiting for our ride and those girls giggled and played all the way back to the hotel. After a little fussing and rustling, we were out for a little snooze.
Finally, we all gathered ourselves back together and headed out for an evening at Downtown Disney where we walked through some cool shops that were filled with…what else, Disney stuff. We grabbed a bite on the way back to the hotel, then right to bed to get ready for our last fun-filled day of Disney.
