Mommy and I decided I should wear my new running outfit for our weekly outing to Mema’s.

So as Mommy and I were chatting the other day, because that’s what we do (more of Mommy talking to me in between my still pretty frequent screaming fits), we’ve decided that I’m a high maintenance kinda’ guy. Now, I don’t know what that means, but here’s what I gathered from the conversation. First, because I have two infected big toe nails, Mommy has to soak my feet in epsom salts three times a day and apply an ointment (you try soaking a seven week old colicky baby’s feet). That’s not going so well. Next, I have a stuffy nose. In comes the saline every morning. I don’t like it. And then on to the ongoing reflux problem. Now, Momma’s not a doctor, but anyone smelling the acid in my mouth could tell you that that’s what I’ve crying about for the first seven weeks of my life. Anyway, after visiting Doctor Mary, we’re on a first name basis now, she concluded that I am a big boy (11 lbs 15 oz) who has outgrown my original dosage of 1ml every morning. Now it’s 1 ml twice a day one half hour before a feeding and increases each week. I don’t like that either. In fact, I spit it back out at Mommy every time. Give Momma points for trying. I threw her a bone the last two nights by sleeping until 4:30AM! BUT–that’s only because, in the famous words of my sister, I am swaddled up “tighter than last year’s swimsuit!” Daddy wraps me so tight that there’s not an ounce of wiggle room. I like it like that! Now that all just sounds like to me a man who knows what he wants and likes…not high maintenance! Silly Mommy!

Mommy Note: We also know the pharmacist at the Kroger on a first name basis now. Not high maintenance my formula soaked shirt!

A Good Day Followed by a Not-So-Good Night

Before I knew it yesterday, we were in the car and heading to Mema’s house for our weekly visit.  Daddy always teases Mommy and says, “Same rountine…just a different setting.”  I think it helps Mommy to get out, talk to another adult, and not worry if I decide to scream my head off.  I really did have a good day.  I only purposefully cried…no crying just for fun today.  I took a couple of good naps, and I played!  On the way home in the car, I only cried until we got to Frankfort…not the usual all the way home crying.  So with that said, Mommy THOUGHT I was going to have a super-duper night.  Nope.  I got her out of bed 5 times (2 feedings, 3 back to sleeps, and a partrige in a pear tree).  And to tick her off even more, I only take 3 ounces at my 5:30AM feeding!  She loves it!

Thanks to Mema for taking care of me while Mommy went the doctor!  See ya’ soon!

Hi everybody!

September 24th, 2006 @ 8:48 am

Its been a week since my last post.  Usually that wouldn’t be a big deal, but for me its 1/7 of my whole life that you guys have missed out on!

Mommy took me to get my one month pictures.  Not a whole lot of grinning, but we got a few good shots to share:

On Friday, Mommy took Big Sister and I up to Gigi and Poppa’s to hang out with them and Mada and Pada:

Then, Mommy took Morgan for some big kid fun and I had my first overnight!  I gave Gigi and Poppa a little of the 3 a.m. business at their house to give Mommy and much-deserved break.  Thanks for having me, guys, and we’ll be up again soon for more Cat In The Hat!

Just to prove that I’m not mad all of the time, Daddy snapped some shots of my goofy grin this morning to share with everyone:
