Blowin’ it Up

August 30th, 2010 @ 8:43 pm

Last Saturday Momma loaded us all up (including Daddy) and headed to Maranda’s house for a Matilda Jane party. It was super fun because Una and I got to play with Ethan, Kaden, Ellie, Eli, Ella, and so many more kids! Nate (Ethan and Kaden’s daddy) showed me how to “blow it up” by bumping our fists together. I love doing it so much that Momma even got me to do it in my sleep!

Also, thank you to Mema and Pepa for picking Una and I up from our schools AND taking us to Taco Bell. We had fun playing in the yard and chowing down on more food at home!

What a week

August 20th, 2010 @ 7:44 pm

Well, we’re now fully back in to the swing of things. Morgan started school last week and Mommy started school on Monday for teacher meeting, Wednesday with kids. So, now we’re back to Daddy Drop-off in the mornings (which means a routine stop at Family Express for coffee, but no car wash!). It also means solo Gigi Fridays for me, which is cool. Today, we went shopping for supplies because Gigi has an event this weekend. But, it also means our standard trip to see all of the fine wares at The Dollar Tree. Today’s special find…Bubba Teeth! Here is a picture of Una and I, but rest assured that Gigi got her own set, too. Be sure to ask her to pop those dudes in when you see her!

Birthday Bash!

August 7th, 2010 @ 9:35 pm

Thanks to everyone who made it out to the swash buckling, plank walking, mast hoisting, anchor dropping adventure! I had a great time, and I hope all of my mateys did, too. Here are some pics from the day of my birthday plus a full captain’s log from the high seas:

Wow! Time Flies…

August 4th, 2010 @ 5:31 am

Mr. Man,

So I’m sitting here on the sofa on the eve of your 4th birthday thinking about the day you decided to come into this world. As always, Momma and Morgan were doing our traditional summertime activity, swimming at Mema’s, when you decided that you were ready to join the pool party. It’s amazing, but I can tell the story of your life in “summers in the pool.”

Summer #1 – Only got in the pool because I plopped you in a ring.
Summer #2 – Enjoyed eating snacks on the deck more than braving the tide.
Summer #3 – Floaties on and jumpin’ in like a mad man.
Summer #4 – No floaties, all goggles!

Watching you swim with no fear and those huge eyes looking up at me from under the water so proud of yourself, well that’s just about the best feeling ever. Don’t get me wrong, Mister, there are times when you are running around the house, naked in the middle of the afternoon, pretending to be baby dinosaur that I just wonder what goes on in that little boy brain of yours. But, one thing I do know that your medulla oblongata houses is compassion for others. When someone is hurt, crying, or upset you are right there offering a toy dinosaur to make tears go away. Also, you are the most caring little man. Every time we are given the opportunity to spend time with Baby Mitchell, you let me know when he “bomits,” if he needs a toy, or when, “He’s too stinky, Momma.” When we are out running our errands, you always have an eye out for anything that, “Baby Mitchell would like dis (this).” It warms my heart to see how proud you are of your new baby cousin. Still, like every other little boy, you love playing cars, chasing your sister, and refusing to eat anything new, but I’ll take it. You jump off of things that are too tall and pretend that you’re a Super Hero, but I love it. You go crazy for Super Mario and Angry Birds, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. It just makes me look forward to Summer #5 and what that will bring. I’m sure you will be high diving before I know it, and we’re just lucky enough to be your biggest fans.

Happy Birthday Little Man!

Love,
Momma and Daddy
